Radar Runs, Bonfire, Music...All at Cruiserfest
Lots of exciting snowmobile radar runs keynote the 11th annual Cruiserfest, set for Friday and Saturday, Feb. 11 & 12 on Lake Minocqua. There will be other activities such as a silent auction and a dance at the American Legion Hall, just a short distance off the ice.

Ride your snowmobile out on the ice Friday night for the torchlight parade. The parade starts at 6:15 p.m. at Stack's Bay (on the east side of Lake Minocqua) and goes west to the Thirsty Whale. There, Christmas trees will be set ablaze for a large bonfire with a fireworks display at 7 p.m. Head over to the AL Hall for a spaghetti dinner (5-7 p.m.) and place your bids at the silent auction.

Saturday, a pancake breakfast will be served at the AL Hall from 8-11 a.m. The brat and chili feed is from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. The silent auction closes at 9 p.m. Music and dancing from 7-11 p.m. Raffle and door prizes all night long.

How fast can your sled go? Find out at the sanctioned radar runs starting at 10 a.m. Saturday on Lake Minocqua. The Illinois Valley Winter Sports Club of Marseilles runs 26 classes on both hard pack and ice tracks (conditions permitting) with speeds of well over 100 mph for the top sleds. The fastest current and vintage sleds race at 3 p.m. for cash and trophies. Bikini runs are also planned. Various vendors will be on the ice with winter related items and services.

Also on Saturday, bring the kids out for a groomer ride on the ice (ice conditions permitting) and test ride the latest snowmobile models on a guided tour. Check out the cruiser sale, which is a swap meet. Go to www.snowmobilewis.com for more information about the club.
